Trust, Safety and Security
Divide · Operated by Divide by Simplified Moves Pty Ltd (ACN 700 293 401) · Last updated: 20 July 2026
Divide handles information that can be private, financial and emotionally sensitive. Security is not a slogan; it must match the controls actually operating in the product.
Your account
Use a strong, unique password, protect your email account and device, and do not share login credentials. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access. We intend to expand multi-factor authentication as part of ongoing security improvements.
Case access
Case information is available only to authenticated users who have been granted access under the case permissions. Current technical controls include database access policies and private storage for item photographs.
Participant and professional permissions are being tightened for launch so access is role-specific and enforced at the database and storage layers, not merely hidden in the interface.
Private decisions
Private participant choices are intended to remain hidden from the other participant until the case reaches the applicable release stage. Divide does not decide the outcome.
Professional access
Professionals should receive only the information needed for their role. The intended launch model uses restricted read-only access, hides participant contact details and direct messages by default, and requires joint approval for a mediator.
Access can be revoked, but files or reports already downloaded outside Divide cannot be remotely retrieved.
Photographs and uploads
Item photographs are stored in private storage. Divide is preparing shorter-lived download links, upload validation and stronger file-access logging. Do not upload identity documents, bank statements, court documents, intimate images or other highly sensitive material unless the app expressly allows it.
Payments
When enabled, payments will be processed through Stripe. Divide does not intend to store full card numbers.
AI
Divide does not use AI item recognition, does not send user photographs to an AI provider for item identification and does not use them to train AI models.
Monitoring and response
We use logs and operational controls to maintain and secure the Service and are implementing stronger audit records for professional access, reports and material case events.
We maintain a written data-breach response process. Where required by law, we will notify affected people and regulators about an eligible data breach.
Service providers and locations
Divide relies on infrastructure, authentication, email, storage and payment providers. Some providers or subprocessors may process information outside Australia. We will publish specific hosting or certification claims only after they have been technically verified.
No absolute guarantee
No online service can guarantee complete security. We take reasonable steps, review controls as the Service develops and ask users to play their part by protecting accounts and sharing reports carefully.
Safety
Divide must not be used for coercive control, stalking, threats, surveillance, impersonation or evasion of an intervention or court order. Either participant is intended to be able to disable direct messaging immediately.
Divide is not an emergency service. If there is immediate danger, call 000.
